Opened in August 2017 by Somerville native George Dardonis, Davis Square Hand Crafted Donuts & Bagels quickly became a neighborhood favorite near the Davis Square T stop. Dardonis transitioned from the corporate world to solo entrepreneurship after being introduced to the bagel business in 2015. Everything is made in-house — yeast and cake donuts with a signature slight crispiness on the outside and soft, doughy interior. The ever-changing menu features creative flavors alongside classics, and the Somerville Cream (marshmallow fluff whipped with strawberry cream cheese, topped with graham crackers) is a standout. Also serves hand-crafted bagels, making it a one-stop morning destination.
